I've had this game for a while, but never could get into it for some reason. When I saw the steam sale the other day I thought it was a good chance to remember why. Oh yeah: the camera is fucking awful. On any setting I can't seem to make it not suck.

Anyone know if there is a "not suck" mod for the camera? I'd like it to be something more like Dragon Age's camera, or better yet the Witcher's over-the-shoulder camera.

Not likely, although once I got over my initial reaction I've managed to mostly not mind.  Two things that made all the difference for me: first, you can set the camera to turn with the player in character view.  It's not great---looking around is vaguely odd, but otherwise it's mostly workable.  Second, make sure that in exploration mode, left mouse is set to move the camera.  I found that much easier to use than the middle-mouse thing the tutorial tells you about.
