Personally, I think this is a good thing lol. But not everyone feels the same. If you feel like playing Goro, Shao Kahn...better dust off the 3D MK's.
I love it, oldschool MK indeed! lol

Bosses in MK9 confirmed NOT Playable! Your thoughts?
Bosses in fighters need to be integrated and balanced for multiplayer. If they aren't, then MP will become a total mess with god characters wiping the floor with regular kombatants in every match, providing there is some skill behind the boss.
On the other hand, if you balance the boss for MP and leave them god-powered for SP, then people get the false idea that this god boss is worth using in MP. Then when you find them to be just average and (probably) with reduced HP, you get angry. This happened with Seth in SF4. Locking Shao Kahn and Goro was the smart decision.
" Bosses are suppose to have the advantage over the player, I agree with the decision "Me too.
It's fine. Though, I do think there should be a way to unlock them for use in offline multiplayer where it's just for fun. Even if it's with a code or something.
That's what I was hoping for, but no big deal eaither way. I'll also only completely believe this when the retail disc is mined for all it's worth. =)
And Boon has said strait out that bosses will NOT be DLC. Obviously that can change, but there are zero plans on doing that as of now.
" will bosses have fatality to show how royally you fucked up? This. Is more important imo. "Yeah, I believe they have fatalities.
I like the fact they're not playable, they're too cheap to use online and it makes them seem more impressive fighting them.
Don't really care :P
Bosses were playable in MK vs DC Universe though, kind of hidden (unlocked and had to use LB/RB to make them show on the list).
In one way it's cool in a old school MK way, but in another way why not just include them?
I mean they already have the models and moves in the game, they could of just put restrictions on them. Like you can't pick them for online use, or a mode that you can only pick them.

Seth is so godlike in the arcade mode
I really like that you can't play as them because it feels old school but at the same time I want to go against my friends as them. I don't get how we can play as Sheeva and Kintaro (if he's DLC) yet we can't be Goro or Shao Kahn? Hopefully this isn't even true. Although going against Goro or Kahn in every single online match will get old quick so it's kind of a good thing. They should at least make them playable offline...
Fine by me. They should be the most powerful fighters in the game. Them not making the bosses playable could show how tough they are.
Yeah I'm totally fine with this, of course it's not going to stop them from releasing them as DLC if they ever decide to do so.
I would rather it was handled similar to Unlimited (Awesome Boss Versions) of characters in BlazBlue. These characters are set up to be absurd and overpowered so in online ranked you cant use them but in private match's you have the choice. When I am in a room with only my friends I leave unlimited on because I know they wont use them often and without it being 'funny' so its fine. If they made that the Boss characters, balanced or not, could be used offline or in private rooms with permission then it would be fine.

Unless Boon confirms otherwise in the future, bosses won't be playable and won't be dlc...
I totally agree with this choice as most in here do. Only the Goro and Shao Kahn fanboys out there are really pissed about this, but chances are they suck with normal characters and just want to get easier wins via a boss character....lol
Good! They have to nerf bosses so badly to make them balanced that it's not worth using them. They need to be super-powered badasses to be legitimate threats, I never once bought Seth as legit.
Playable offline, not playable online. Easy solution.
However since Goro and Kintaro have endings in the demo files but SK does not, I'd tend to think they will be playable in some form. Especially since Kintaro is now DLC... are they expecting you to pay for a DLC boss you can't play as?
