Hey, I'm getting a ps2 (again), and re-buying all of my favorite games. And I was wondering, if I should get all of the MGS games separately, and get the substance versions of them, or should I get them all in the essential collection, because I don't want to miss out on all of the content on the substance versions of mgs 2 and 3.

MGs 2 has not Substance version on Ps2, but MGs3:Subsistence  is interesting. Don't go wondering about its worth just go and buy it.

But does The metal gear solid collection, have all of the content from the substance versions of the games. (Yes there is a substance version of MGS 2 on the PS2).

The collection contains everything except for MGS3: Subsistence disc 2 which is the disc with special features and Metal Gear 1 and 2.

mgs 2 substance is all on there
mgs3 subsistence is mostly in the colection but the second disc is missing.  That means no snake vs monkey, special theture, and a few other things.  In other word if you have the extra money to get them seperate i sujest you do but the collection isn't missing to much

No, on the 2nd disc it had the original Metal Gear 1 and 2, not Metal Gear Solid.

Oooooooh. I can play those for free on an emulator, so that's ok. What about the multiplayer on MGS 3 substance, what ever happened to that?

So no reason to worry about not getting that.

I got the "Collection" version, as it's been said MGS3's online has been closed, so not much need for the second disc. BUT, I believe if you can find three separate mint condition editions of MGS, 2 and 3, for about the same price as the Collection, do that. If not, get the Collection.

I dig the Substance and Subsistence versions I have, the collectors edition doesn't add anything, and all PS2 games are pretty cheap now.
