    Overview

    The Metal Gear Solid 4 Database is a downloadable encyclopedia of information pertinent to the Metal Gear universe that was released in conjunction with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.  It covers information on characters, governments, organizations, weapons, and events from throughout the canon Metal Gear storyline up to the events of Metal Gear Solid 4.  The events of the storyline are also organized into timelines and character relationship charts.  However, to prevent spoilers, all information in the database directly related to Metal Gear Solid 4 is censored until it detects a completed Metal Gear Solid 4 save file on the console.
