Yes, other than the end and some worse than two's side mission/fetch quests, the game is a superb experience. I mean, I wasn't one to get up in arms over the end, but it could have been better. I did feel a strong emotion though in the end, which I won't go into as it may spoil it, but yes, definitely play three! Two is the best merely due to the quality of certain aspects, like the design of side missions and what have you, but three is arguably the best from a gameplay perspective just in how it feels when in combat. I was going to go back and get the rest of the DLC for all of them, as I didn't have them all, but I didn't. I don't know if I will, even though I'd still like to experience them. I am hoping for a trilogy release on current-gen honestly. To me, the second is the best, then the third, and then the original.
I didn't initially like the original, and it wasn't until some of ME2's DLC content that I realized it was one of my favorite series. ME3 largely finishes it off extremely well, very end aside. I've beat them all multiple times through the years (well, three only three and a half times). There's something special about playing them from release, but I don't think that will affect your appreciation of them much, though I find it hard not to recommend playing them a second or third time, just to make sure you have everything you want done, to be done. On topic about ME3's end though, without going into detail about it, the thing that makes it disappointing to me (and I'm sure others) is just that they couldn't get an end for everyone, so it's not really unique to any player, while the rest of ME has been about the players choice.
