Nightcrawler is a mutant in the legendary X-Men. His mutation consists of physical mutations, making him look like a demon, and the ability to teleport. He is also quite the acrobat, and a master fencer, being able to wield swords with every limb, including his tail.
Paragon was created by Dr. Niles Van Roekel. Unlike his other creations, dubbed "Imperfects," Paragon was created to be his perfect fighter.

The COTA-94 model of Sentinel has been hunting down mutants and other characters in Capcom fighting games since X-Men: Children of the Atom. It is a distinct model, different from other Sentinels in the Marvel Universe.

Sunfire is a Japanese superhero that has the power to project superheated plasma and fly. He was a playable character in X-Men: Legends 2 and was mentioned in The Punisher game.
The Red Skull embodies all that oppose the United States, and wish it harm. He has fought many Marvel characters in comic books and video games, especially Captain America.

Wolverine is a Marvel Comics character that goes by "Logan" as his civilian identity. He is a mutant best known for his incredible regeneration ability, berserker rage, and the six retractable claws housed in his forearms. His whole entire skeleton and claws are made of the virtually indestructible metal Adamantium.
Laura Kinney, or X-23, is the result of a top-secret project to replicate the original Weapon X (Wolverine). She has joined the X-Men to find her place, but reverted to her killer instincts as a member of X-Force. She appears in Marvel VS Capcom 3 as a playable character.
