I  don't know whether it was the Computer monitor that i was using or the fact that I was playing the game Online but man did the graphics for this game look HORRIBLE!!! I felt like I was playing Resident Evil 2 for the Playstation.....I mean I'm looking at the photos of the game and they look decent a hell of alot better than the ones I saw when I was playing online.....Not to mention that the game seemed repetitive, kill zombies, get to a safe house, run, kill more zombies, safe house, and so on.....BORING...I was expecting the game to bed more like a GTA IV type of game....think of it....It would be alot more fun if it was literally an open world you and a few guys driving, running, shooting through a city, either running around, driving , and shooting zombies....It would be a massive city....with tons of zombies kinda like dead rising with zombies everywhere you look.....Left For Dead seemed like you were constantly forced to follow and stay on one line.....AM I CRAZY...CUZ I THINK A ZOMBIE GAMES ARE PRETTY COOL....I EVEN READ THE BOOK "HOW TO SURVIVE A ZOMBIE INVASION" OR DOES THIS GAME JUST PLANE S.U.C.K?

The graphics can be a bit simplistic, especially in the indoor environments but I think they suit the game well. I played on the 360 and I never really experienced any technical issues, but I havent played online.

i play everyday and im not tired with it lol the only thing im tired of is playing with my friends online then getting retrying connection to server around the finale so yeah i kinda go into the game now thinking that i wont even be able to finish it which kinda takes away the point of playing really.

Yeah the graphics are a little weak.  But considering this is a graphics engine from 2004, i'd say thats pretty impressive.

There should be more Madden Football in Left 4 Dead.

I think someone's computer sucks.  I've been hearing a lot of people say that the graphics for this game aren't very good, and while they are aged, if what you're seeing is a game running at the graphical resolution of something like Resident Evil 2, you really need to upgrade your computer, get your eyes checked, or check yourself into some sort of a mental retreat that will help you lower your standards.  The graphics engine is one that was created in 2004 for Half-Life 2, using filters and cinematic lighting effects to bring it a bit more up to date with the current standards.

If you're finding the game at all repetitive, play through a different campaign and also MAKE SURE YOU ARE PLAYING ON ADVANCED OR EXPERT.  Normal is just way too easy to blow through.  If it's still repetitive, go play something else.  People have opinions, and if you don't like Left 4 Dead, more power to you.  Go play something dull and boring while I have fun.

Left4Dead is certainly not "my ideal zombie survival game" as most people seem to be labeling it, but it is quite fun and the graphics are fine. I've only seen one major game try to properly simulate the zombie experience (dead rising), and they fucked it up.

Honestly I don't think the graphics are that bad at all. I can see the game getting repetitive if you play it a LOT... just try playing something else for a while. DLC has been announced for L4D as well, and there will be really cool mods coming out too.

You tell me, sir, if you've ever seen the same zombie twice? Good graphics techniques are ignored by the player because they're so natural. You're hanging up on little issues, the graphics in this game are great.

They don`t look that bad, definitely not horrible, pretty damn good actually from my personal experience.

Man, graphics whores are simpletons. The art design (i.e. character design and environments) of L4D look great.
Also a big fan of the lighting. From the sick fluorescent lights in the hospital to the dankness of the sewer to the creepy gloom of the cornfield.
Just because it isn't bombarded in bloom doesn't mean the graphics are bad.
