So I got L4D to play over the xmas break, and have managed a fair bit, thourghly loving it. The only issue is that sometimes I get bursts of maor slowdown, the fps drop and the game for me comes to a crawl, before suddenly running normally. Its quite an annoyance. Its probably down to my drivers but just wondered if anyone else was having similar issues?

    Im runing it on a

That sucks, and I really am not great with handing PC problems so I'm not sure exactly what it could be, besides just making sure your graphics drivers are up to date, or possibly reinstalling L4D. I've never come across any slowdown in the game at all. Hope you get it fixed.

It very well could be your drivers, my mate had long load times and occasional slow-down and then after he updated his drivers the game run alot better, it's worth a try anyways.

It was the drivers and over heating issues, cheers for the help. I updated the drivers and sat my laptop on top dry ice to cool it to 0 degs celcius. Game runs beautifully now and the cooling allows cores to run fine

I played L4D on the 360, so I am not really familiar with it like that.

Good to see you got it all sorted out though. Happy zombie hunting dude.
