Magical Platforming Bliss
I think one of the most annoying parts of the 8-bit era that is almost exclusive to this generation is the absence of the Master System's presence in the US. I guess it's not so much of a problem now because the internet has brought any release from this generation directly to you to use conveniently, but the US still fails to see the Master System's full potential because they have no reference to some of the best games for the system, seeing as the last game released for the US market was Sonic the Hedgehog in 1991. Land of Illusion is one of those games.
The platforming is grand and creative, it's not just a constant "Jump to next platform" game, you have to use enemies, blocks and other such objects to your advantage to get to where you want to go. The graphics are beyond anything seen on the Nintendo Entertainment System, without a shadow of a doubt. They are so incredibly colorful but carefully drawn and thought out, like every classic Disney game. The biggest drawback, as with a lot of SMS games, is the sound... the sound chip just does lend enough to it to render it a classic, but the actual music itself is nice.
Land of Illusion is a game I beg you to play, it's beyond almost any Disney game for the Nintendo, it's better than Ducktales and Chip N' Dale, trust me, this is one you've been missing out on.
