    Takeshi Hongo was a genius athlete university student and hobby motorcyclist with an IQ of 600 who was kidnapped by the evil organization Shocker. Shocker attempted to transform Hongo into a cyborg warrior and have him become a part of their mutant army, but before their scientists could complete the transformation by brainwashing him, Hongo was saved by his university professor, Midorikawa, and escaped.

    Now armed with a powerful cyborg body, Takeshi Hongo, better known as Kamen Rider 1, fights against the evil Shocker in the name of justice. His belt is the device to transform between human form and cyborg form, aka rider form.
