    John Tanaka is a mechanic who works for the Galactic Space Federation, in the same unit as Jody Summer. When he knew about her entering the F-Zero GP, he knew he had to protect her from the dangers of the circuit and built himself a machine, which he registered in the GP. He isn´t desperate about winning, his priority is to protect the woman he secretly loves. If he does happen to win, he is even considering proposing.

    The Wonder Wasp is a machine that has great acceleration and boost, as well as a respectable top speed. However, it does fall short in grip strength, yet it isn´t as slippery as other ships with the same condition; it is a controllable ship amidst of this problem which means that it is a very good choice for tracks with wide turns where full speed drifting corners is possible.
