Iwanako was a classmate of Hisao Nakai at the school he attended before transferring to Yamaku High School. She only appears in the opening of the game, where she confesses her love to Hisao in the middle of a forest during winter. While she's asking Hisao to go out with her, he begins to feel a pounding in his chest which escalates into a full heart attack that hospitalises him for months and results in his transfer. Iwanako visits him in the hospital for a month and a half, but they rarely never spoke to each other while she was visiting. She was the last of his friends to stop visiting.
Later on in the game, no matter which route the player has taken, Iwanako will send a letter to Hisao giving a description about the school he once attended, a mention of the changes that came with the new term and a statement saying that it is for the best that the two of them never see each other again.
