The Ink Grenade is a newer addition to the Gears of Wars universe (first appearing in the hands of the Kantus in the campaign mode of Gears of war 2), and is a poison spewing grenade that causes successive damage and vision obstruction to any enemies within its large radius. The ink grenade can be planted on walls, ground, or cover like any other type of grenade in Gears of War 2, but it should be noted that an ink grenade can damage its original owner. As previously mentioned, the ink grenade was originally carried by the dangerous Kantus-class locust, and are quite lethal on higher difficulty settings. In many of the Gears of War 2 multiplayer modes the ink grenade will spawn every other round in the place of regular grenades, and can be used used by a skillful player to cause quite a bit of damage to enemy forces.
