    Greetings y’all!

I thought instead of making a thread on the individual Elusive targets as they return, it would be better to make one big collective one

    No Caption Provided

Elusive Target #5 The Gunrunner should be up today in under two and a half hour from when I’m posting this. The precise time is 2 PM CET, he'll be up for 10 days starting to day like the others. For those among the newcomers to the Elusive Targets, who’ve managed Silent Assassin with the last four targets, you should be able to unlock up to 3 suits with this one should you get Silent Assassin on it. There's a check sheet below.

So if you aren’t caught by the release of Monster Hunter, or Dragon Ball or games from last year feel free to share your strategy to help everyone out!

I hope this weeks one is more interesting than last weeks. Still convinced there was something broken about the AI or scripting of that target.

Oh! I had no idea they were bringing the old Elusive targets around for another shot this year.
I will try and check in to Hitman more often! I didn't get a single elusive target the first year they were putting them out.

Oh man! I've missed these were coming back around. Definitely will be doing this, this weekend between playing my other backlog! Will share once I get a chance to go at it!

    Thanks for the heads up!

@vikingdeath1: I'll update this thread as frequently as they show up. You got 9 days to do it, so it'll be plenty of time.

Wow, screw this one. I thought the previous one in Paris was bad, but this guy was awful. Just circles that damn table and looks at his phone. After a fair amount of fooling around and reloading, I found that you can get him to evacuate into the tunnel, where he'll reach the halfway mark and then make his way back. He gets a team of four guarding him the whole way, though (his three bodyguards and one of the Elites). There's probably a way smoother way to do this, but I managed to do some coin tomfoolery to distract just his guards in just the right place in the tunnels so he would continue on without them alone for just long enough that I could garrote him and stuff his corpse in the locker. Managed to squeak out a SA, but didn't feel that good about it.

Is there something really obvious about the target that I just completely missed?

@relkin: You didn’t have to get rid of his guards, the distance between him and his guards is long enough to strangle him without them noticing, just let them pass through the door and up the stairs and then kill him

@thechris: That sounds like it would have been much easier, but it isn't what my guy did. He was in front of his guards on the way back upstairs, not behind them. I went through it several times as I figured out exactly where and when to throw coins, and he was always in front. Not sure what variable at play caused our experiences to be different, but I would have preferred your version of that situation.

@relkin: when they're on their way back from the lockdown, you can just step in front of the guy to interrupt him briefly while the guards move on. A bit cheap but it's a useful tactic for dealing with guys who are always grouped together (IIRC this was very useful for the celebrity chef elusive) and you don't want to go lethal (ICA really should invest in emetic poison dart technology!)

Leaving guns on the floor can also be a great way to pull guards off-piste (not sure if it would matter in this area, didn't try it).

I had a weird glitch where one of the bodyguards vanished from existence when the alarm expired: one second he was in the locker room, and the next he was gone.

@quantris: I'm always a bit nervous actually making physical contact with the targets; had too many occasions where they get suspicious. That weapon idea is interesting though; I wonder if you could get all of his guards distracted if you left enough weapons for each of them? Depending on where they go to dispose of the weapons (continuing up the stairs, or turning around and heading deeper into the tunnel), that could be a perfect way to isolate the target.

I fucked up. I tried doing elusive run yesterday and it's locked. I was family sharing Hitman and I added that free version during Christmas. Now I can't access full version from my brother's Steam account. Fucking great. Unlocked Santa's costume, though.

@relkin: I’ve done the target on a different account, same tactic, killed him with a screw driver without his guards noticing. The target will always be the last man going up the stairs. The distance between him and his guards is always so wide that you can easily kill him with any sharp object without making noise.

@thechris: I never doubted you; that's just not what happened in my game. I've seen other runs online, and it's clear that the situation you're describing is the way it's supposed to go. It just didn't go that way for me; I must've been doing something that caused them to behave a little differently.

This was one I had missed. I didn't really care to take the time to SA this one, so I threw the Iconator proximity explosive at him when no one was looking. He went kaboom, and I ran out of there. It amused me. I got three stars.

Less than two hours 'till the next Elusive Target, The Twin, is online. As always he'll be there for 10 days. It is to my understanding that this one will be a bit trickier than the last few Elusive dudes. He has a twin brother whom he is with at all times, he can't be hurt whatsoever as you'll fail if that happens. Also he has some escorts too. The real target is wearing a golden wrist watch on his left arm, so you'll have to get close to identify him.

Much like the 4th Elusive Target, you might have to trick the AI a bit to get the Silent Assassin ranking unfortunately. I'm interested in how people will tackle this one!

He should be up at 2PM CEST, 8AM EST etc.

I think the easiest way to get this guy is to keep the bodyguards busy by dropping guns for them to pick up. Then bump into the target to separate him from his brother. Once he's got some space around him, drop the rubber duck for an accident kill. You don't need to worry about the body if it's an accident.

I injected him with the syringe to get him to the bathroom, went smoothly until the guard decided to go inside after I left after him and discovered the body. So it wasn't quite as Silent as it should have been, oh well.

Don’t know if anybody else noticed but IO mistakenly uploaded the 8th Elusive Target two days ago, so a lot of people including myself took advantage of that. I actually managed to kill him without tricking the dumb AI, and it was a fun death.

Nice. I caught it. Cheesed it up, though. Don't really get much out of these so I'm just doing it for the suits.

I didn't know you could shoot those power strips. I only recently realized you could shoot the surveillance computers. The prompts on everything kinda trained me into thinking you need to do it in the "designed" way. Starting to realize there are many things I can just fucking shoot. lol

The Twin was my favourite so far, it was fun learning his walking loop and making a plan. I coined a guard inside the town hall and chucked the target off the top floor. My first Silent Assassin rank for an elusive target!

I might be wrong but I think if it says to use a screwdriver or a wrench you can usually just shoot it, so power strips, propane tanks, patio heaters etc you can shoot. If it says to use a crowbar you need to use explosives to do it remotely.

One of my favourite tricks is to find the propane tank you can carry, take it somewhere private and shoot it once to cause a leak (a second shot will explode it). Then carry the leaking tank back to where your target goes for a smoke and just leave it there. They seem to never run out of gas and nobody cares if you're carrying around a tank that's leaking gas everywhere.

I poisoned the wine after Gonzalez drank it. It was fucking hilarious hearing Dylan say "I hope it's not poisoned" then proceeds to die from said poisoned wine while the other Twin, the wine clerk and the bodyguard watches helplessly.

Just took out the broker in Paris; got a silent assassin ranking.

Started with Gold Coin, Emetic Poison Syringe, Silverballer, at the main gate in the signature suit (with Lockpick at a drop). Went into the basement, shot the surveillance station, made my way up the back staircase, taking the disguise of the tech in the stairwell. Grabbed a CICADA disguise from the patrolling fella next to this stairwell, stuffing his body (along with the distracted Auction Waiter) in the closet. Made my way to Dalia's room, coining both of the guards into the bathroom and choking them out, filling up the closet. Took the egg. Went down to the first floor, and found the target making his way from the showroom out to the patio. Coined him into the garden and nicked him with the Emetic Syringe, and then followed him to the bathroom and drowned him, running to the main gate exit before anyone checked on him and found his corpse.

A little easy, but I'd take a little easy over some of the more frustrating ET's they've released previously.

Forgotten to update this thread with the last two Elusive Targets, so let's back to it.

    No Caption Provided

The 9th Elusive Target is for some reason The Guru, who originally was the 16th Elusive Target. I guess IOI are mixing them up this time, since Elusive Target 7 they've been the relatively the same order. Nevertheless, he'll be up for 9 days from today. He should be relatively easy to take out, I took him out with the chandelier inside the town hall. That's the preferred method if you wanna Silent Assassinate him. If you've done all Elusive Target so far, the next one should unlock the Blood Money Suit.

For those who are still playing the game, the current Elusive Target Bad Boy is probably among the most fun Elusive Targets yet. You can still kill him today, if you still need to unlock some suits before Hitman 2.

    Will do.

I just did the latest target in Paris, since I've been replaying the game on X. It all went really smoothly 'till I thought I was running out of time and panicked, proceeding to just shoot her in the middle of a crowded room. I don't know how, but somehow I managed to escape and end up finishing the mission, despite being riddled with bullets in several gunfights.
