    Hamburger

Object » linked to 363 games

A hamburger is a hunk of ground beef served between two pieces of bun-configured bread. Hamburgers are often served with a variety of toppings and condiments. It is named for the region in which it was invented, not for the kind of meat (as is often mistakenly suggested).

So just curious, but what do if any condiments do you prefer to have on your hamburger?

I really love the spread sauce from in and our burger, but if that isn't an option I'll pick ketchup (with maybe a little mayo depending on the burger).

    Ketchup. Hands down.

For the longest time I ate my cheeseburgers plain. Just meat and cheese. Eventually I branched out and most of the time I order my cheeseburger with all sorts of condiments. But when I do regress and just eat my burgers plain again I still, occasionally, dip it into ketchup. So it seems my first add on is always ketchup.

I'm going to go out of the box here and say Sriracha sauce. I've gotten to the point where if no Sriracha sauce is on a burger, it ain't no burger. In case of emergencies I always have one of these chained to my car keys.

    just cheese and bacon.

if you have to put tons of cobdiments on a burger then your making a shitty burger.

a little bit of bbq sauce when on the grill is acceptable

never understood ketchup. sugary tomato paste never seemed appealing to me

Depends where I'm eating. If I'm going to Five Guys, give me everything. I'm talking ketchup, mustard, mayo, BBQ sauce, onions (regular and grilled), tomatoes, lettuce and pickles. But if I'm at an Honest (which is a totally awesome burger place in London), I'll probably just put some ketchup in there.

Some good BBQ sauce can really improve a burger. Ketchup's good sometimes too. Mayo's gross. I've never tried mustard.

I have always put the same toppings and condiments on my burgers: mayo, mustard, ketchup, lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes. TBH, the only topping that I find to be mandatory is pickles. To quote Matty Matheson "if a sandwich doesn't have pickles in it, it's probably gonna be garbage. Throw it on the floor, walk away."

Here is my go-to list in what I want in a hamburger. I mix and match fixings and cheeses to switch things up. Everything on large toasted bun or sandwich bread if I am out.

    Condiments:

    • Ketchup
    • Mustard
    • Guacamole
    • Worcestershire sauce and seasoning during cooking.

    Fixings:

    • Lettuce options: Iceburg, romaine or spinach
    • Pickles (Mandatory)
    • Sliced red onions
    • Sauteed mushrooms or white onions
    • Thinly sliced tomato if meat is spicy. I don't like large slices.
    • Jalapeño (Optional)

    Preferred cheese options:

    • Provolone
    • Cheddar
    • Swiss
    • Muenster
    • Mozzarella

    1. Hot Sauce
    2. Mayo
    3. Salsa
    4. Dijon Mustard
    5. BBQ Sauce

These are my toppings of choice depending on what else is on the burger (cheese, mushrooms, bacon, pickles, onions, etc...)

It depends on what kind of burger it is, and then what kind of flavours I'm in the mood for. I only ever use different combinations of mustard, ketchup and mayo though (mayo is only for chicken stuff, if at all, because I rarely want that shit).

I put spicy stuff in the meat usually, so I've never used any kind of hot sauce, otherwise I would probably put that on everything.

Cheese, pickles, onions, mayo, ketchup, mustard. Think I might be done with tomatoes and lettuce anymore, the are never uniform and just cause the burger to fucking slide all over the place.

Its an obvious and simple answer but whatever sauce Mc Donalds use on their burgers, I found something similar to it in a store once, many quality homemade burgers were made with that sauce. Also recently realized Mc Donalds put salt on their hamburgers, which is pretty good. Gherkins are pretty good too.

Aaaaaand now I want a burger.

You people are lucky. Korea has yet to really master the art of a good burger. They like to drench theirs in this ubiquitous disgustingly sweet meat sauce. Sweet sweet sweet. Everything's gotta be sweet here. Either sweet or it tastes like squid. Korean junk food is the absolute worst.

90% of the time it's the standards (not all at the same time but): Ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, bacon. I'm down with a fried egg or onion rings sometimes too though.

Mayo and BBQ (Sweet Baby Ray's). Those are condiments, and so I don't consider Bacon. I'll usually just eat a burger with the Mayo and BBQ, with the burger, bun and cheese (sometimes none, though I prefer American cheese on it). At times, I'll put other stuff, it just depend on what's made with it, and at times what I feel like putting on it, like onions. That's when I'm at home. At most fast food restaurants, they don't really have any BBQ burgers I'd rather have then another, but at diners or what have you, I'll get a BBQ burger.

Generally its Ketchup and Mustard. But when I'm at Five Guys, the go to condiments are Mayo and A1. That's how I like my Five Guys burger.

Man...next time you grill up a burger, spread some mayo on the bottom bun and sprinkle a little salt and pepper on it. The juices mix in with the mayo and make this meat aioli that knocks your socks off.

That being said, usually just ketchup. Sometimes BBQ sauce if out about town and feel like one of them burgers with the onion shoestrings.
