"AaronBelfast said:No dude, what am I'm trying to say this will game will be similar to the originals, they were pretty bad even back in that era, what makes this any different?"Meowayne said:Because you totally have access to secret gameplay footage, right?""Graphics Whore said:Graphics whore? I'm just pointing out that a yet to be released game has worse graphics than a 14 year old game. It would be OK if the gameplay made up for it but from what I've seen that looks crap too.""Hell, PSX games looked better than this."Well, duh. The PSX is technically superior to the DS."
"I am really surprised by the amount of hate going on here...I guess no one here was ever a fan of the original GTA games."I'm not a fan of any GTA game
i think it looks good for a DS game and am interested. I didn't enjoy GTAIV, but maybe this version will have more variety and with it being portable it will be a perfect way to spend my time while i'm in class at college. i know gta is on the PSP but i don't like the gimped control scheme. i did enjoy VC stories on the PS2 though.
Yes they do. Look at Mario Kart DS, Call of Duty 4, and Star Wars The Force Unleashed. No, they don't. What do these games, as well as every other good looking DS game, have in common?
"
That's right, very few characters simultanously on-screen. The DS has a limit of 2000 polygons per frame per second. That's nothing. That's less than what the PSX or N64 could push out. Devs have managed to produce some impressive work by the clever use of textures and sprites, and the most impressive game polycount-wise so far is Phantasy Star Zero, but a third person GTA with multiple pedestrians, cars and effects? No fucking way. Everyone who seriously thought a DS GTA would not look like GTA and GTA2 is vastly mistaken about the system's capabilities.
For a third person GTA, the one thing you need is a decent polycount. The one thing the DS sucks at.
People only looking at the first post and replying, saying they are shit, please remember: They are scans from a magazine it appears. The grainy look is because of that. Look at any screenshots in your beloved game magazines, especially handheld screenshots, and they all look like shit.
How wrong the Giantbomb community was (well, half of you anyway).
"I puked a little in my mouth."Looks like SHIT.........and why are people bigger than Cars?

I have it. It's GTA. There really isn't any more you can say about it, it's GTA, not watered-down, not hampered with, but also not improved upon. Feels exactly like it should. Technically and visually, it's quite impressive for the hardware, though I do not understand why they chose to make everything polygonal. The DSs polycount and 3D output sucks, but it has an excellent 2D machine - GTA II looks better and feels more alive than Chinatown Wars.
If you're a fan of GTA, chinatown wars should be awesome. I'm not really a fan of the series, so all I can say is that it's exactly like the others.
