FTL is a super fun strategy game in which you fly around in a space ship of your choosing, and try to defeat the final Rebel boss. If you've already played this game, I suggest reading it again, because most people are practicing bad habits.
Rule 1: Never, EVER, jet through a sector. The only way you can is if you want to get to sector 8, like what I'm trying to do with the stupid vortex... but never mind. If you want to do well and gain achievements and high scores, and of course, defeat the final boss, you HAVE to look around for scrap and quests, because you can get sweet upgrades.
Rule 2: Always feel free to jump away from a fight. If you have a good ship with the best skills to beat the boss, but something heavy like a Class 2 Mantis Bomber runs into you, all you have to do is hit that yellow button and save your skin.
Rule 3: Use good weapons. Yeah, I know that sounds like a dick move, but some weapons are better than others. For example. The Red-Tail starts out with 4 basic layers. If you get to a store selling a burst laser II, dual lasers, and a pike beam, whatever you do, please don't buy the dual laser. But, if you have a personal thing for a weapon and it really doesn't matter, just use the one you want to.
