I'd say it would have to do a lot with the fact GB's staff is comprised of ex-GSers which draws a huge fanbase.  Not to mention that comics get nowhere near the same level of exposure mainstream though this is thankfully changing thanks to the comic->movie trend of late.

Also, video games are more of an online phenomenon than comics. There are online comics, but it's not like how gaming can be online.

They should make a video game out of Y The Last Man where you have to go cross country fighting Amazons and evil scientist ninjas.

Games are better than comics, because in games you shoot dudes, and in comics, you look at pictures of dudes getting shot.

Comics aren't as popular as video games. Simple as that.

And comics you have to be able to read...........so that does exclude a lot of people.

Okay, the whole literacy angle doesn't work, because there is hellatext in a lot of video games, and illiterate people can get their enjoyment of comics by looking at the pretty pictures.

No we have.....Cap, Red L.AM.P, G-man, Methos, Gambler, Shatterstar, Buckshot, ........and we both have Z-edge"

It shouldn't be a site war, it should be a medium war. Comic Vine is great and all, but it has the same problem movies have and TV has, it's not interactive.
