Musical inconsistency is pretty normal imo (I listen to as much indie, industrial and alternative as metal and punk, for example)

My top three musicians have been constant for quite a while now. I suspect that unless I experience some major upheaval in my life, that isn't likely to change:

It's nigh-on impossible to pick my three favourite songs of all time, but I'll do my best. Love, Reign O'er Me is the only one that there's really no doubt about - that song (and the whole Quadrophenia album, really) changed my life. Here's my attempt to pick another two songs to sit beside it:
