I'm a fan of Joystiq.com. N4G is also worth a quick check every now and again. There is a lot of filler from crap sites like Strenghtgamer.com but you can filter that garbage out.

Joystiq has been my number 2 for years. Though I dont really like  that they've added scales to their review. And their reviews in general aren't that great anyway

and i use the awesome Gameinformer hubs for games like B3, Skyrim and L.A. Noire

Only gaming sites I go to or GB and Joystiq for news.

I really do like Kotaku, hopefully gawker will get the message and fix the mess they've made. But by then I might have become too comfy we these new sites y'all helped me discover...

Gamasutra? Although its entirely a different thing. Not entirely sure because most sites really pale in terms of content vs. the gb. There is also  www.reddit.com/r/gaming but it's feeling more and more like a circlejerk in recent weeks. 

I kind of like joystiq but is there a way to make their posts into just headlines and a picture or some other way to condense the page? 
I don't really like to keep on clicking to find more headlines.

Joystiq gets my vote for secondary gaming stuff website. Oh, and Shacknews is great too.

First off, never say never. A few years ago I said I would never need another website then 1up.com, but then all the shit that happened over there happened and now I wouldn't go to the site if my life depended on it. 
 
As for sites, I use these to get all my gaming news since they actually cover PC Games unlike most sites:

Well, Gamespot is a great 'loser' site. That's where most of these people here came from.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun.  
 
There's little overlap between RPS (a PC only site) and Giant Bomb, and between them I feel like I'm pretty much covered.  There's some great written content on RPS, though sometimes it gets a bit blinkered and whiny (the comments are often intolerable nowadays).  They cover a lot of great stuff that doesn't get much of a look in on the big multi-plat sites, and they don't seem too worried about upsetting the industry, which I approve of.
 
They don't score their reviews either, which I'm a big fan of because all of the metacritic manipulation going on is filthy and needs to stop.

I'd say The 'Stiq.
 
Also, I don't think I like you asking who is going to be your number two; it sounds like fetishistic role-playing that will spawn a bunch of reaction videos on YouTube.

Joystiq is my choice( might be in the market for a new site after all the bad press coming out of aol) , stopped going to kotaku when they felt the need to force a new design on everyone. (shouldn't have to go to another site just to view it the old way). Could also though in GamesRadar though they do have their issues. 

Joystiq.  It's the perfect compliment to Giantbomb.  Joystiq for news, Giantbomb for podcasts, videos, review & community.
 
I gave up on Kotaku.  Their redesign blows.
