Anyone else becoming frustrated?

Just been called a "Flithy Murdering Inbred Scouse cunt", and told to "fuck off  scouse scum". The sad thing is, I'm not even scouse...

The thought of leaving Giantbomb dwindles in my head. Yeah maybe we lack mods, but I've seen a few threads locked, while others are allowed to continue. I don't think they have any idea, any abusive or offensive threads need to be closed, and some of the members here need to be banned. There is so much spam.

Why on Earth do we have 'Let's see your knives/guns' threads? It's ridiculous.

You have to directly message a mod about your situation, since the reporting tools are not completed.

As of now few users have been promoted to mods, and with the amount of traffic the site is receiving it can be a little overwhelming for them, s just hang in there I'm sure they'll get it in time.

This site has been around for only 4 days man. It still needs time to get it's moderation force together. And to ban a few nitwits around here.

Yeah, I got ganged up on by some freakin MS fanboys last night. That was annoying....

Anyway, we need just a FEW more moderators, and some overseas ones too so that those sneaky night crawlers don't get through (I'm in Japan so I see the entire US night cycle over here )

Yeah, this forum does seem to be taking a turn for the worse already in more than a few areas.  They shoulda stopped taking new member submissions after the first 24 hours, that woulda kept the 'slower' folk from coming and and making garbage threads and posts.  'lol post pics of u hottest girl luloluloloulolz'.  I'm going to quit the internet for good any day now.

To put it simply there is a small number of us moderators for a reason. GiantBomb and its creators have put a lot of faith and trust into their community, they after all do let you submit content to the website and after 1000 points you can do so instantly without the need to go through a moderation queue. We understand there are some users who are essentially here to troll and nothing more, eventually we will deal with them as the report feature is activated but right now if you have problems you must contact a Moderator directly and we'll try our best to help you out.

As for certain topics some are only still around purely because we haven't been told directly to lock or delete them. Others are around because they are in the correct forum, Eg the guns thread in OT, and are causing no harm to anyone.

My biggest piece of advice is if you have problems, contact the mods ASAP, if you dont like a topic then dont click it. This isn't Gamespot or IGN, GiantBomb trusts its users and so far that trust hasn't been broken and the community is doing a great job in self regulating what goes on.

Well I'm from Liverpool, and I'd just laugh off those comments. Usually because the people saying them are completely ignorant, but also because I could easily explain why Liverpool is superior to the city they live in.

Just stop taking things so seriously while the mods sort out problems. I mean come on, this is the Internetz - if you're getting insulted it means that the perpetrator is a spotty 5 foot tall teenager with no friends. Just give them a negative point and move out of the thread.

I'm sure the mods and admins know what is going on and are sorting the problem. No need to leave the site though. For every bad discussion on here there are at least 4 friendly ones elsewhere on the board.

I think people are misunderstanding the reason I started this thread. This isn't a plead for sympathy. I would never take a comment over the internet as a personal attack, I'm just simply stating that currently the forums, in my opinion, are in a bad state. It is somewhat understandable why, being only a few days old, I was just wondering if anyone else feels the same frustration as I do about certain members trolling.

It honestly doesn't bother me if someone feels the need to insult me, go ahead, it's only when the forums start clogging up with rubbish and abusive posts it starts to annoy me.

But the thing is, the forums aren't even the main focus of GB. And plus, what you are describing is mostly limited to the Off-Topic and General Discussion forums...it's all about the games.

The reporting tools are being worked on, you can't expect them to be ready in days. :\

I guess I haven't been using the forums enough to notice. I would have figured there wouldn't be too many bad apples here as most people really want to see this site succeed, but maybe I figured wrong.

4 days ago everyone was basking in the glow of having no rules. 

Until we have report tools, PM me or the other mods (listed in the FAQs thread) about any problems, or check in on the IRC chat, where I and others are around.

You know, they did a study about the differences in dog's barks and, they discovered that dogs from different areas of the country had different accents in their barks.  No jokes.  Apparently the strongest recorded accents were scouser and Scottish accents :P  Apparently it happens just because dogs inherit some of the attributes of their owners.

sigh do mods have the tool to actually ban someone yet?

Most of the spam is pretty low. There are a couple severe cases i have seen, but I think the mods are doing a pretty good job. Once the site works out its kinks i think it will be fine.

Im geting frustrated with all the gltches and bugs.I can barely edit anything.

The mods are doing what they can, they have a lot of work right now so it's obviously difficult. Best thing we can do is make sure we're well behaved and encourage others to do likewise.

Well really calling someone a scouser isn't a bad thing. It's just a nickname. I'm proud to call myself a scouser.
What is the problem is image people have of us. The image was mostly crafted in the 80's and has sadly stayed to this day which, personally, terrible.
