The I just bought a Zojirushi Thread
I don't drink coffee
I don't drink tea at work
I don't bring iced cold beverages with me anywhere
But I have a Zojirushi mug now.
No better time to start than now!
I bought my mother a 300$ Zojirushi rice cooker when Ryan first mentioned them around two years ago.
" I bought my mother a 300$ Zojirushi rice cooker when Ryan first mentioned them around two years ago. "$300 for a rice cooker?!
Tested's Will Smith heavily hinted at a Whiskey Media/Zojirushi cross-over in last week's This is Only a Test podcast.
Gary: "You should do a licensing deal with Zojurushi to put your logos on it."
Will: "It's interesting you say that... It is interesting that you say that, Gary Whitta."
Gary: "Is it?"
Will: "It is very interesting that you say that, Gary Whitta."
Norm: "I'm going to hold off on buying one now."
Will: "That is an interesting thing to suggest, Norman Chan."
" Thinking about buying a rice cooker because fucking rice. "Has anyone actually purchased one of their rice cookers that can give me a testimonial? Cause I want to eat some quality rice.
Just used my Zojirushi 17ounch for the 1st time today and its giving me this odd taste to my coffee. Like the plastic or rubber is affecting it. I did wash before I used it, so not sure if it's an issue around that. Anyone else experience an odd taste from their thermos?

Growing up I was friends with a lot of asian kids and they all had Zojirushi rice cookers at home. I also once worked at a Chinese restaurant and they had some as well. My current boss says he has the same one that he had in the 80s made by them so I'm guess they are quality machines.
I'm waiting to relocate (to my gf 2 hours away) then we're getting a rice cooker from Zojirushi. I'm thinking of getting a thermos.
If you're a tea drinker then ideally you'd want to just keep hot water and make the tea up as you need it but most people make the tea and put it in the flask and take milk in a separate flask or bottle. If you add the milk and keep it in the flask... urgghhhh. If you've had tea in India where they add milk and keep it boiling, it's like that but worse.

I wash my out every evening its used and the thermos doesn't affect the coffee.
I just bought two off Amazon Canada, one for me and my mom because she has been asking for a good thermos.
I bought one for myself a week or so ago, then promptly orderd another for my girlfriend, daughter, and even gifted one over to my mom. The cross-over sounds interesting but like everything else on the Whiskey Media store...it's prohibitively expensive to order to Canada as the shipping rates are insane. I don't think I'll be able to beat $25 for a Tuff mug with free shipping.
I'm also waiting for my Zojirushi rice cooker to arrive, as I need a rice cooker that doesn't ruin my rice and one that can make me steel cut oats in the morning.
Check out Ryan's Zojirushi mug's Amazon page and look at " Customers who bought this item also bought:" In that section, there are some more Zojirushi's, a couple of Thermos-brand mugs, and... Portal 2 and L.A. Noire. If anyone had any doubt that the Bombcast is leading to higher Zojirushi sales, there's your proof!
After visiting Amazon a few times over the last few months and looking at Zojirushi mugs, I finally succumbed.
The tipping point was about 5 minutes ago. I was just working away in the office and thought to myself "damn, I could really go some regular-ass black coffee". The walk to the nearest refreshment area is too long. Thus, Zojirushi.
Bought the big-ass cold beverage only 41 oz model to bring to work. This thing is fucking magic. Ice that I have placed inside the Zojirushi at around 6PM was still there when I woke up the next morning! I was like "ICE! HOW DID YOU NOT MELT?!?"
Mind you, here in Texas, temperatures right now can be as high as 110F. How the ice did not melt in ~14 hours astounds me. I am sensing some sort of black magic coming out of this...
I got the 17oz blue one for fathers day. It is seriously amazing. I got a coffee made in there at a Starbucks at 5pm, and it was way too hot so I just kinda left it and then forgot about it all together. When I finally dragged myself up to bed at 2:30am (9 1/2 hrs later), I noticed it was still sitting there and took a sip. It was just barely drinkable. Madness.
@WickedFather: This model that I've purchased comes with a hidden compartment in the lid to hold tea until you need it!
Zojirushi has your back
It took a while, but they got me.
I think it's indicative of the sheer exuberance and repetition of the Zojirushi talk on the site that, 5 years later, when I needed a coffee thermos that Zojirushi was the first thing that I thought of.
@huckleberrysassacre: I stopped using mine because of this. It became too much work getting it to not burn me.
