Created 20 years after the original, this game re-conceptualizes its inspiration as a high score focused arcade style game. Like its predecessors, the game is progressed by clearing waves of enemies, overtly called "missions" here. New to the game are coins to collect per 'mission' for a score listed in the top left. Instead of initiating an excruciating death sequence immediately upon contact, enemies now damage your health, which is a number out of 100 displayed in the upper right. Potion bottles can be found and consumed to restore health. A boot power up can also be found which temporarily boosts the players speed.
The game is in third person and zoomed out to the degree that the player archer is less than 1/4 of the screen. However, attacking occurs only when switched to a first person perspective, where the player is completely stationary.
The game cycles through day and night like its predecessors. There is now "competition", archers with the exact same character model as the player who don't seem to do anything but walk around, but can be shot (but not killed) for an additional coin. Every 3 missions the enemies change, and the player archer dances with his bow in the manner of the first game to a remixed version of the same song.
