Fire Emblem: Awakening was recently announced as a 2012 release for Europe, which is all sorts of good for them, but is there a viable market for this to be released stateside? I came upon the series rather recently; the 'Sacred Stones' ambassador release was the first title I actually owned, but now I'm hooked. Bought a copy of each DS+Wii compatible title I could find. I was just wondering what a Venn Diagram of people in the US with a 3DS paired with Fire Emblem fans would look like.

I guess I'll just go back to anxiously waiting for Reggie to announce something officially...

Questionable. The most recent game, Shin Monshou no Nazo, never actually received a western release despite being a direct sequel to Shadow Dragon and despite apparently being way better than Shadow Dragon in every capacity. I certainly hope they release the 3DS one here, as that would be just the excuse I needed to buy a 3DS.

Otherwise, I suggest you do what I did to bide my time and check out the Japan-only Fire Emblem games. They all have some decent if occasionally stilted and overly literal fan translations, and while I don't really think you should bother with the first 3, 4-6 on the SNES and GBA are probably among the series' best.

I would buy a 3DS in a heartbeat for this game and I FUCKING HATE Nintendo!

If this doesn't get announced for a US release at the 3DS conference, I will take that as a sign that Nintendo has an active grudge against me and will probably consider them my mortal enemy. Or something.

@TehFlan: Not only did they not announce Fire Emblem, there was no new information presented at all in that conference, save for Alucard appearing in Castlevania. An hour well spent, Nintendo, bully for you.
