Every year we look forward to the new football season with excitement. Crowned champions, player transactions and which team has the top kit for the new season. With the new season also comes what to many football fans is of equal excitement, the latest edition of the FIFA franchise.

With it comes the latest improvements in graphics (sans crowd animations), physics, dribbling, tactics, AI, free kicks etc.

Sure we get to play as our favourite current players, why has the FIFA franchise never taken advantage of my deep love for players that no longer lace up their boots?

Imagine an Ultimate Team: Legends mode in FIFA, you could finally dribble past 5 players with Matt Le Tissier for example and lob one over the keeper with one of the Premier League legends. Grace the field as Zidane once more, gliding passed players in only the elegance he possessed. Bomb down the wings with your favourite fullbacks (Cafu, Maldini) or wingers from the seasons past. Command the box with Peter Schmeichel once more, or bag a hat trick with Romario.

Football fans, as passionate as myself, wear our hearts on our sleeves and love that nostalgic feeling of seeing our favourite players back on the pitch.

We get "Classic 11" but that doesn't really scratch the itch.

    What do you guys think?

To answer your question on a more legal and serious note, probably copyright issues, I mean look at how Konami has been handeling PES (Winning Eleven) need to get rights for those types of things you know.

On a fan level it would be ridiculous to include those legends. I mean look at the ratings for Messi, Neymar, and Ronaldo (CR7), I mean think of how they would have to rate the best players of all time in comparison to them i mean the numbers for Maradona, Pele, Zidane, etc. If FIFA rated them close to each other people would be pissed for saying that these players are just as good as the legends, and if they rate them any higher it just wouldn't make sense Zidane with skill rating of like 114 or Maradona with the speed of like 107, just not gona happen. They should do something though, Zizu in a modern game would be pretty sick, or putting the moves down like Maradona or a special move where you can punch the ball into the goal would be cool too.

Not to start any hate but Pele is whatever, don't care if he's considered to be the best ever, his era of competition doesn't even come close to what it was over the past few decades, easy for him to dominate.
