Time in Fates of Ort is bound to action. Whenever the player stands still, time freezes. If the player walks, attacks or casts spells, time flows. Magic is tied directly to the player's life energy. Every spell cast drains a little bit of life, meaning combat requires strategic use of magic.
The world of Ort is open, with numerous biomes to experience. Exploration is necessary to gain strength before facing the evil that lurks underneath the capitol city of Ort.
