    Overview

    Famicom Tantei Club: Kieta Koukeisha (ファミコン探偵倶楽部 消えた後継者), Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir, is a murder mystery adventure game developed by Nintendo for the Famicom Disk System in 1988. The game is separated into two disks, the first part (Zenpen) was released in April of 1988 and the second part (Kouhen) was released later that year in June. The game was followed by a prequel published the next year in 1989 called Famicom Tantei Club Part II: Ushiro ni Tatsu Shoujo.

    A Port of the Famicom Detective Club was later released for the Gameboy Advance in 2004 as part of the Famicom-Mini series. Both disks were made available separately on the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console in 2007 and on the Nintendo 3DS's Virtual Console as one set in 2013. A remake of Famicom Detective Club was eventually created for the Nintendo Switch in 2021 and was released in North America as Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir.

    Gameplay

    Famicom Tantei Club's gameplay follows the same adventure game mechanics and interface popularized by the Famicom version of Portopia. The player interacts with the world by selecting verbs that are listed on the side of the screen with the bottom of the screen displaying text for descriptions and dialogue.
