A condom is a specially designed piece of latex (and sometimes other materials) used to prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases during sex.

Sideburns are a form of hair grown over the temples and down towards the jaw. Not to be confused with "mutton chops", which is a kind of beard grown on the cheeks. Sideburns are extremely common in games that include character customization.
Some games, while not steampunk in nature, do feature steam engines or similar contraptions.
A length of exceptionally sharp metal with a handle, used for centuries as the go-to killing device for the human race. It's dead simple: you stick the pointy end in the thing you want to die. Or you could always slash them with the equally sharp sides. That works too.
