    In Tolkien's Lore, Eregion is the area of Middle-Earth where the Rings of Power were forged in the Second Age.

    In the Lord of the Rings Online game, Eregion is an area added after the initial release of the game as part of a free content update.  It was further developed with the release of the Mines of Moria expansion pack.    Eregion is a are of fields, rocks and holly trees, bordered on the north by mountains, the south by a river, and on the east by the Mines of Moria and the Redhorn Pass.  Eregion is a primary location for Book 15 in Volume 1 of the Epic Quest line and for Book 1 of Volume 2.

    Eregion contains four travel locations:  MIrobel, Echad Dunan, Gwingris, and Echad Eregion

    Eregion also contains the following instances:  School at Tham Mirdain (3 man instance), Library at Tham Mirdain (3 man instance), Gates of Moria (public instance) and two quest instances.
