    Overview

Eiichiro Takeba is the deceased father of Yukari Takeba in Persona 3. Ten years prior to the game's events, while separated from his wife and daughter, he was a research scientist working for the Kirijo Group and was heavily involved in secret research into Shadows. When the other researchers attempt to bring about the Fall, however, he prevents it by forcibly separating Death into thirteen parts. He also left a video recording warning people to leave the resultant Shadows alone; left alone, the Shadows would eventually vanish, but defeating them would only allow them to reunite into their whole, and hasten the Fall once again.

Eiichiro's actions resulted in a catastrophe that claimed the lives of fifty researchers, including himself. In the Kirijo Group's cover-up, the blame for the disaster was placed on his shoulders. Shuji Ikutsuki would eventually use this to his own ends by doctoring the video Eiichiro left behind in order to trick the S.E.E.S. members, including Eiichiro's own daughter Yukari, into thinking that they could bring an end to the Dark Hour by eliminating the Shadows. However, after the Shadows are defeated and Ikutsuki's plot is uncovered, Fuuka Yamagishi discovers the unedited version of the video, allowing them to learn the real story of what happened.
