The way they are making the camera shake and zoom during really makes the combat seem quite a bit more dynamic this time around.

Awesome!  I hope that DQ IX gets localized first though.  Either way, I'm sure to pick this up when it hits stateside a year or so from now.

I'll be picking it up as well. The significant other loves these games. She's beaten DQ V, started DQ iV and I currently have her distracted with Chrono Trigger. 
 
I hear you PengiunDust.. I too hope that DQ IX gets translated and released first. I'm looking forward to it. It looks like they've really gotten the most out of the DS in terms of performance and graphics. It looks awesome.

I would prefer it the other way around myself, but only because I want to abide to my schedule of playing these games in sequence.
 
I think SE may release this first, in order to help gain further interest down the line when they do release IX.  Time will tell, either way I'm not really that fussed, any DQ on DS makes me happy.

This is good. I had a tough time getting into the SNES version (mainly because I only played it on an emulator). It's probably the only Dragon Quest game that didn't grab me. Hopefully this remake will change my opinion of it.

So the question now is whether this or IX will come out first, and which one I want to buy. I'm leaning heavily on IX

I think it's time I go back and finish Dragon Quest V now.
