I'm pretty sure it came out yesterday in the states, but I haven't heard much about it. I skimmed the almost non-existent (maybe a paragraph long) Game Informer review, and apaprently it is an excellent port. They compared it to Civilization:Revolution because there is so much on the small DS cartridge. I'd say it is a safe bet.

When you get a thread full of "OMG IS IT OUT OR WHAT I THINK IT IS", you're not getting an answer, are you?

    Hmm. Sounds good. Thanks, BoG.
I'll be sure to keep an eye out though, just in case there are some problems that weren't noticed (or were just ignored) by most reviewers.

I've noticed a couple of small sound glitches, but nothing major.  Just mostly effects that are delayed by about a second.  It's nothing game breaking, nor is it anything I can reenact except by sheer accident.  There's also one instance where the text for a cutscene did not come up, but pressing any button brought up the next line of dialogue.

There are the usual Nippon Ichi game "hotspots" for leveling.  I believe in this game it's level 5-3 for the early levels.  It's nothing major and definitely not cheating, but the level has all invincibility panels save for one.  If you combine all the enemies into that one panel and surround it, you can effectively bring up a level 1 character through many levels (I think about twenty).  It's great for early power leveling.

I bought it, and it seems fine. It's not as clear as the other two, but it is definitely good for Disgaea on the go.

Well I am sure that the best version of this game is the PSP version but this version seems to be still be a good choice as well.

im playing this myself at the moment and the DS port is great for trains and when you have to wait. This is pretty much the old disgaia except voices and with some new gameplay mechanics.

It look pretty much the same as the PSP version. you can pretty much go through all the story and not see the new mechanic at all. I think the new stuff come when you are very late into the game.

I have had the PSP version for a LONG time and the DS version for 2 weeks.  I will go on my daughter's opinion for this.  She hasn't stopped playing the DS version since we got it and dropped the PSP version after a couple of hours.  I don't know if it is the game or the system.  The PSP is the red-headed stepchild in our house, no-one wants it.  We have to tie a lamb chop to it just to get the dog to play with it.
