You might be thinking of the TV show Walking with Dinosaurs, which gave a handful of small and medium sized theropods feathers. But not t-rexes, cus they weren't ready to ruin the mythology yet. "
Those look more like collagen fibers, like you see on iguanas and such.
PS, some scientists think these theropod feathers are actually collagen fibers, which would mean that instead of your favorite dino having feathers, it would have a rad spiney mowhawk.

Well dinosaur theme is like the dragon fantasy, but you can use modern weapons to fight back, rather then sword, shield and spells, i believe, so it should not be too accurate.
@Magiczipper82: I think Ryanwho is right though about the nature of those feathers although I believe they had those on their heads because of the discovery of the feathers on dinosaurs.
I scrolled through many wiki-pages (the ultimate place of ultimate knowledge) about misc. dino subjects and I never saw "they had feathers" or "resent discovery shows... feathers". So I think it´s just a case of "know-it-alls sharing bits on nonsense" aka. factoid.
So I´ll go with the argument stated somewhere above... They don´t know because it just a bunch of skeletons.

Considering some fossils have had feathers on the dinosaur when dug up it pretty likely that some (not all) dinosaurs had feathers. Also birds are closely related to some of the dinosaurs.

i bet mostly the raptors and pterodactlyl type dinosaurs had feathers (that actually makes sense, those dinos seem more bird like and quick) and the quadrupeds and the triceratops-ish ones didnt because they're more rhinocerous-like.
