The didgeridoo is a wind instrument that originated from the aboriginal people of Australia. It is said to be the oldest wind instrument dating back to 20,000BC. The aborigines made these wind instruments from the branches of a eucalyptus tree. They looked for the branches that were hallowed out by termites. In fact there is a legend in the aborigine culture that states that the first man wanted to please the sky. He blew into a hallowed branch releasing all of the termites out the other side toward the sky, creating the stars.
The popularity of the didgeridoo has increased in recent years. Since finding hallow branches for everyone who wants a didgeridoo is a long task. Most didgeridoos are made of synthetic material.
