The Demonbrand of Romancing SaGa is a katana-type weapon that is found in Treasure Cave B3 on Ligau Isle. The weapon is first found as the Rusty Falcata and can be tempered to 7 by any character. If Gray is chosen as the main character then finding the Rusty Falcata starts a quest called Voice of the Blade, in which the sword directs you with what to tmeper it and you find out that the sword houses the soul of a blacksmith from Ligau Isle. Upon reaching 7 and entering (almost any) town you will hear from the blade one last time which leads to a fight against the demon of the sword. Upon killing this demon the Falcata 7 becomes the Demonbrand and is permanently given the mode (attack/defense/trick/etc.) that the sword had before the fight. Obtaining the weapon will also change Gray's appearance slightly: a white stripe added to his armor and the sheath on his hip becomes white instead of the normal black.
