It would seem so. As I was playing the game, I found my way in a hospital. One of the corpses in a room had the I.D. card of Karla L. Homolka.

Easter Eggs are in pretty much every game.

If you watch the Quick Look they realize something is afoot as well. There are collectibles that have John Wayne Gacy, Aileen Wuornos and Arthur Allen, might be others in there, I forget. Anyhow, each known or at least believed to be serial killers and such. Not sure how or if that plays into the game at all or if it is just a fun little thing they decided to do.

I don't really see it being in the game as "disturbing," but after reading that wiki, I find her disturbing. The fact that she has a normal life now makes me sick and thoroughly hate the judicial system.

I think a lot of them are serial killers. I found E. Theodore Gein in the hospital too, which is obviously a reference to Ed Gein. Hadn't noticed any others but I might go over and look some of the other IDs up to see what is going on with them.

Yep, every one of the ids, as far as i saw, are of serial killers.

Yeah, all of the collectible ID cards are convicted or tried serial killers

she's not really starring in the game. at all really, from what i've seen/heard.

I don't know man. She murdered three people, spent 12 years in prison, and now spend the rest of her life on a beach somewhere in the Antilles. That's how it works in Canada. We even had a father butchering his two child last year and due to his attorney who managed to tell people he had one night of insanity and that's all, he may even get a free pass out of jail and back into the streets right away. In Canada, seriously, you can get away with anything.

Robert Pickton is also in there, as is Jeffrey Dahmer. When I picked up Karla's I was like "maybe a coincidence?" - then I picked up Pickton and I was like "wtf are the developers trying to say? Why use serial/mass murderers in this game? Why immortalize these people?" The game was already grim enough, not sure this move was necessary?

That's just it... I think they did an amazing job already with their story, I don't see the need to add the names of these people into the game. The NEWS media is where the names should belong - it's their domain. It's not a video game's domain. I personally think it takes away from what was otherwise a spectacular game.

I dont really get it but we are sickly fascinated with murderers. I saw a documentary on several killers. One was this totally weird, ugly, creepy little Asian guy who killed and tried to eat this chick he was really into (or wanted to be would prob be more accurate).Think he got released on some retarded mix up. Went back to his home country and was approached to do porn with a cannibalistic overtone, which he does.

So yea, ID card with a serial killers name on it ranks kinda low imo lol. Christ saw some random Imgur.com photos. This guy asked if he should be worried, he found a book on serial killers in this chicks place with notes and pages marked, highlighted throughout. (Note she was not in school or taking any classes, it was a hobby) Some other chick posted a comment to the effect of naw, I do the same thing. My family thinks im weird as shit too!

It's just an easter egg. They're not trying to say anything and they're not immortalizing anyone. Putting more thought into this is like complaining that Dexter idolizes serial killers.

@John1912: I believe you're talking about Issei Sagawa. Yeah that`s a real messed up case and plain weird he got some celebrity status for a bit. I saw a interview with him and it gave me the creeps.
