Due to certain child pornography laws, Nintendo's Scandinavian subsidiary decided not to release the game in the territory. Apparently some dude on a Swedish forum thought of reporting the game because some of the girls were under 18, just to make a point of how ridiculous he thought the law was. Nintendo panicked when they heard about this and cancelled the release days before the game was supposed to hit shops. Full story on Eurogamer.

Banned in Sweden!
This topic is locked from further discussion.
@Axxol: I thought if someone was going to write about this, they'd do it in the game's forum, and not in General Discussion. The Mods can always move it to the proper forum.
There's already a thread about this here
No. You can legally have sex with anyone that's at least 15 years old, but when it comes to pornography the girls depicted must be at least 18 (even if they're fictional). It's only child porn in sweden if they are younger than 15. 16 and 17 is A ok.
By the way, the guy that threatened to report the game actually did report it. He got the following response from the police:

So the game was not "banned". Nintendo could totally have released it and everything would've been fine."I've looked at everything you've linked, but can't find any child pornography...? It's not enough to write that someone's 17 years old, and besides, the image in itself is not pornographic."
What.
Either way, it's a silly thing to cancel a game release over given that it's not a pornographic game and wasn't deemed to be objectionable by the authorities.
@Icemael: Wait, so Swedish law says that you can legally have sex with someone three years younger than the age it's legal to view pornographic images of that person? What.I know. It's really weird.
I read Sweden in the title, and now all I can think about is the Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show...
It does seem like the older thread that's been brought up is a more comprehensive discussion on this ban, so let's move the conversation into there for consolidation's sake. Thanks!
