Dark Nights with Poe and Munro is a Full Motion Video (FMV) game about radio hosts Poe and Munro who get caught up in strange events in the town of August. There are six episodes in the game which are presented like TV episodes so each one has its own story which has some kind of supernatural element to it. The player has to click on-screen hotspots to decide what they do and the course that each story takes. Each episode lasts around 20-30 minutes depending on the choices made and can be replayed to explore different outcomes.
Dark Nights with Poe and Munro is a spin-off of The Shapeshifting Detective which was created by the same developers, D'Avekki Studios, but is a prequel and entirely standalone so it can be played without having played the earlier game. It also includes an episode containing a callback to their first game, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker.
Poe is played by Klemens Koehring and Munro is played by Leah Cunard. The game also features a cameo from Aislinn De'Ath (as Violet) who played Marianna in The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker and Violet in The Shapeshifting Detective. There are also voiceover cameos from Justin McElroy and Jesse Cox as well as others.
