History of 3DS Version
While the game had been teased for a while, Renegade Kid's Jools Watsham revealed the game's official name and logo via a tweeted photo before the PAX East 2013 show floor opened. The game made its debut on the show floor with an atmosphere demo for visitors to try out.
Cult County was planned to be released episodically on the Nintendo 3DS eShop in approximately four-hour long gameplay chunks with three episodes per season. Renegade Kid aimed to finish the first season within a year.
The game was going to support the Circle Pad Pro (XL) for dual-"stick" control. The 3DS version was canceled as part of the launch of a Kickstarter campaign to make Cult County for consoles instead.
