CONCEPT

The ability to counter a move.

Overview

The counter system is the ability to counter a move and inflict damage. A counter is when a fighter attacks an enemy directly after blocking his move. This can sometimes leave him stunned and some counter moves inflict more damage than regular moves. This system is used in many action games and some games give the player a cue as to when they must counter. An enemy can also counter the player character's moves. A counter is a good way of defeating enemies who block a lot as they are the most exposed while attacking.
