Formed in August 2007, Guildford was created to develop a new game IP. Pulling various alumni from such studios as Criterion and Sony's London Studio, the intent was to create a strong team capable of developing future titles.
Bodycount, headed by Stuart Black (formerly of Criterion), was the first prototype greenlit for development. The game began production in 2009 and was released in August 2011.
In September 2011, following the release of Bodycount, the studio was shuttered resulting in staff layoffs and relocation.
