    Overview

    Cid Kramer starts the game off being known as Headmaster Cid as he is the head of Balamb Garden which Squall Leonhart, Zell Dincht, and Selphie Tilmitt attend. Cid is in charge with giving SeeDs and SeeD candidates the debriefs of their missions.

    Cid initially supports SeeD on its quest to assassinate Sorceress Edea in the first disc of the game. In the second disc it is revealed that Sorceress Edea was possessed and that her real name is Edea Kramer, Cid's wife.

    In Final Fantasy history, the Cid character in every game is generally associated with airships and Final Fantasy VIII is no different. Around Disc 2 the students realize that Balamb Garden is actually a mobile military base as opposed to a static building. Nida acts as the pilot of Garden in its ship form. This is the first ship that the player receives and it has only basic mechanics.
