Choji is on a team with Shikamaru and Ino. His main power is his partial expansion jutsu which allows him to enlarge his limbs for added effectiveness. He can also eat a pill that rapidly burns off his fat so that he gains an immense amount of Chakra. Choji plays a minor role in the series, but offers a powerful ally for the protagonists.
During the Sasuke Retrieval Arc Choji fought Jiroubou alone. He forced Jiroubou to activate the second state of his curse mark but after taking the third and final Akimichi soldier pill he was able to kill him.
It is revealed that after the 2.5 year timeskip that Choji has become a Chunin.
At the end of the series, Choji marries Karui, whom the two have a daughter together named Chocho.
