    Back to the Future 0

One thing that has certainly become more noticeable as I get older is my lessening tolerance for any kind of abuse or general bad manners in gaming. My mind just instinctively convulses with an even mix of disappointment and rage whenever someone sees fit to find delight in another’s frustration or simply enjoys getting a rise out of others. Even relatively innocuous trash talk, just no, nope, I cannot stand any of it and its casual ubiquity stains what ought to be something that’s e...

Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Review 0

Please note that this review is for the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops III ONLY. This score does not reflect the campaign or zombies modes. For me, Call of Duty has always been the quintessential online shooter experience. The series has mastered the genre in which it resides, and it has made for some of the most fun I’ve ever had in a multiplayer shooter. But for the past few years, Call of Duty seemed to have lost its way, with the disaster that was Ghosts and the game-chang...

Call of Duty is Still a Threat. Black Ops 3 Review 0

Rest assured this year’s Call of Duty release is still packed full of shooting guys in the face. It may not be as polished as last year’s Advanced Warfare but it’s still a lot of fun, providing its share of set-piece moments, additions to the combat and movement mechanics and cameos from big name actors. I can’t say that I’m as thrilled with Black Ops 3 as I was Advanced Warfare, but if you’re looking for a solid and fully featured first person shooter, then ...

    Good story, same game 0

I'm always enjoy the story in the Black Ops games and this one is very good though it takes a little too long. The gameplay is relatively unchanged, save the fact it isn't as free as in AW. Somethings in the campaign loadout wise could've been explained better, for instance I went through half the game without the wallrun/double jump thinking it was an unlock somewhere when its just an upgrade in the traversal perk thing. Multiplayer is still fun, still get killed a lot. I think the nightmares m...

    Imagine yourself...in a future world. 0

Who would have guessed that there was a third game in Black Ops...and that it gives references to older titles of the Black Ops series? Like when Khalil mentioned Raul Menendez, the main antagonist of Black Ops 2 and if you go in the database you can find old letters from Hudson and Alex Mason. With great graphics for 2015, an amazing Jack Wall soundtrack, stellar voice acting, and so much more, Black Ops III sets the standards for the future of gaming. This game introduced the new specialists wi...

A drop in campaign quality shakes an otherwise steady ship. 0

Despite the Call of Duty series' reputation as a tentpole multiplayer game, I have always enjoyed the campaigns for what they have been: overblown popcorn action rides driving you from one bombastic set-piece to the next. The first two Black Ops games did this fantastically, even bettering Infinity Ward's efforts post-CoD4 in many respects. After last year's Advanced Warfare updated the Call of Duty gameplay with a fresh sense of speed and dynamism, complimented by an engaging take on the CoD si...

BLOPS III is the biggest COD to date, but not the best. 0

Black Ops III is a perfectly entertaining FPS, but it's not a masterpiece. In fact, fans of the previous BLOPS games will be disappointed that it isn't a conclusion to the Alex Mason story. It is, however, loaded to the gills with plenty of content and most of it is solid. Surprisingly, this game doesn't resemble its Cold War-set predecessors or even the Michael Bay-influenced "Modern Warfare" games. Instead, it is a bleak and violent cyberpunk adventure that blends elements of "Ghost In the She...
