    Overview

    In Wrestling Games

Cage matches are a long-standing tradition in wrestling, and are thus a common feature in wrestling games. Several variants of the cage match exist across the various wrestling organizations, one of the most famous being the WWE's "Hell in a Cell" event.

    In Fighting Games

Cage matches are primarily a 3D fighting game phenomenon, appearing in games like Tekken and Soulcalibur. In most 2D fighters it isn't possible to ring out, as the edges of the stage act as barriers.
