It's with a sad heart that I bring you this news. The last pure Burnout game will no longer be playable online after April 13th 2012.

This will be almost two years to the day (April 15th) for when Microsoft shut down Xbox Live for the original Xbox in 2010. I was playing Burnout 3: Takedown until the very moment EA pulled the plug on their servers (then switched to Halo 2 until I was too tired to play). You can be damn sure I'll be around for the end of Burnout Revenge, even if it is the black sheep of the Burnout family.

Tell your friends my fellow Burnout-aholics, for we'll never get a chance to play this high speed racer again. Also, send Ryan and Jeff a message or two on twitter to see if we can get a Burnout Revenge TNT that week.

Duder, last I checked no one plays Burnout Revenge online anymore. I do have it on Xbox 360, though, and if you want to play it with me sometime, send me a friend request on Xbox 360. Gamertag is Believer258. Send a message with it letting me know you're from GB. Let's find some other duders to play this with before the plug gets pulled.

It makes me sad to think Paradise is next in line, hope that stays online long enough for the next Burnout game. And a Burnout TNT is always welcome.

@believer258: @Mr_Skeleton: The number of players online in Revenge will undoubtedly skyrocket for the next couple weeks given the news.

Hell, I might finally buy it. Was always meaning to, especially as I never quite enjoyed Paradise City as much as I wanted to.

But then Wipeout HD and (for a few hours at least) Split/Second scratched the itch for high speed arcade racing so I never considered it again.

I usually hate bumping threads, but I think this one is worth it. Since I only posted this last night I'm doing this in the late morning for those that might have missed it. Assuming more people post, I'll try to bump this every few days so more people are aware leading up to the 13th.

Surely it makes sense to just switch them over to standard xbox peer to peer rather than shutting them down forever?

a Burnout Revenge TNT would be pretty cool! it's unfortunate they can't just shut it down on May 15th. I'll probably be playing this until they pull the plug or everyone stops playing again, whichever comes first.

Burnout: Revenge is still by far my favorite Burnout game. I loved it so much that I bought it for the original Xbox and reached rank 30 on the leaderboards. Then I bought it again for the 360 and played a billion more hours. If it isn't my favorite racing game of all time, it comes pretty damn close. I'll be missing that one, but those servers cannot be up forever unfortunately.

I really hope they do a TNT for it before the servers go down. The online is a lot of fun to play in this game.

Oh man. When I bought a 360, I got two games with it: Gears of War and Burnout: Revenge. And yeah, as much as i love Paradise, Revenge was the last Burnout game in that race track style, which is actually a lot more fun to race around on (because you aren't constantly looking at a map to make sure you're taking the roads you need to be taking.

I guess it's not like single player will no longer work, but damn.

I wish I could keep my games after I beat them, but sadly I don't; Would've been great to play this again.

Just bought this game tonight, totally aware of this event.

This game rocks. It's a shame to see it go. Hopefully, as people are suggesting, the Giant Bomb duders will play this for TNT.

TNT for this needs to happen. On that note why is it so damn expensive? The cheapest I can find it is £20
