Bosses are enemies that fight you at the end of a level or at a significant point in the story.
A boss fight is a culminating challenge that pits the player against one or more enemies representing a greater threat and/or difficulty than those previously faced. These scenarios typically feature unique antagonists.
A level that is focused entirely on a boss encounter.
A bullet pattern is a top-down or side-view barrage of bullets, in a repeating pattern, that the player must dodge (or in some cases the player must hit the bullets).
Enemies that are adamant in their will to hunt you down. Example: Pac-Man ghosts.
A location where the player character is relatively assured to avoid patterns of incoming fire or enemy movement.
Sometimes, things are just meant to happen the way they do. Usually triggered by a timer, or by the player crossing a checkpoint.
Players must repeat a series of inputs, dictated by the game, in order to progress. It is very similar in nature to Simon Says, or more accurately, the electronic game, Simon.
