    Released on August 16, 2007, Bloons TD (short for Bloons Tower Defense) is a spin-off to the Bloons series, pairing the series' core "monkeys popping balloons" theme with a tower defense style of gameplay. The first Bloons spin-off title, TD is relatively simple, featuring a single map, five towers, and six variants of enemy "bloon".

    Towers

    Bloons TD features five towers, which can be placed anywhere outside of the bloons' path. Each tower has an effective range, indicated when placing and selecting a given tower, although once placed, any tower's range can be upgraded. Additionally, every tower except for the Super Monkey can be upgraded to either pop more bloons per attack, or attack faster, depending on the tower.

    Towers will automatically target the furthest-ahead bloon in their attack range.
