Felt the forum needed its obligatory who are you maining thread! Plus I'm interested to see if the spread has changed since BB:CT. I've not added the other 2 DLC characters and they've not actually been offically announced yet and while Makoto isn't out yet, she's pretty close.
I'll probably continue to try and main a dodgy Taokaka, although I might start learning Tsubaki as she looks pretty fun.
BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Nov 20, 2009
The second main installment of the BlazBlue series of fighting games, continuing Ragna's tale of manipulated time while revamping some of the original game's gameplay systems.
The who's your main thread!
I started with Noel, but I've moved on to Arakune for the pure mindfuck potential. I also like Tao, Rachel and Lichi...all the relatively quick characters.
Hopefully Hazama will suit my play style, cause naturally i'd like to main him.
We really do need Jubei as a playable character...he makes Kurt Russell look like a pansy.
I think i'm going with Hazama, since my CT main Noel was nerfed pretty bad.
Plus Hazama is just a badass mofo!
Boobie Lady is the right mix of speed, range and tricks. Rachel is all tricks, and Tao is all speed, so I likes me some Litchi.
Ragna the Bloodedge
(1) Because I really want to learn this game and need a ryu type character
(2) I literally love the way the CS announcer says his name
(3) Hells Fang
As for me, I used to be a Noel player, then she got inexplicably nerfed. Just try fighting a Bang or Litchi player of equal or better skill. You'll be lucky to win one round, let alone one match with Noel.
I'm trying to main Tager, probably because I gravitate towards grapplers in fighting games and/or I'm a glutton for punishment. The problem with Tager is not just that you could order a pizza in the time it takes his sledgehammer to hit, but that he has a hitbox the size of Australia, so if you screw up once you can be juggled for several seconds before you finally get another chance to try again.
It's almost enough to make me throw up my hands, say "fuck this" and just go with either Jin or Hazama.
I still love to play as Noel. I find her style mesmerizing, and she is my love.
I just hate they changed Fenrir combination. A lot harder to use in a combo in my opinon.
I also like playing as Hazama and Tsubaki. I feel they were great addition to the fight roster, and am looking forward to Makoto as well.
I think training mode makes it so everyone knows how to play Ragna @.@
Laaaaawls." But Noel clearly needed a nerf!
"
I originally planned on using Taokaka, but then I got hooked on Hazama.
have not got the game but looking forward to playing it but i don't know if my mains will change its been jin and litchi
Wow, that is one hell of a combo against a training dummy, but completely unfeasible against actual people. If anyone lets their opponent pull that off against them in a real match, they should just surrender right there and get pelted by popcorn balls on their walk of shame out of the room." But Noel clearly needed a nerf!
I don't play much but Litchi Faye Ling.
Aside from liking her fighting style her name is fun to just say randomly.
Litch Faye Ling.... Litchi Faye Ling... Litchi Faye Ling. Sounds nice. Litchi Faye Ling, Litchi Faye Ling...
" @mwng said:Agreed. Where's the burst? Hell, where's the anything?!Wow, that is one hell of a combo against a training dummy, but completely unfeasible against actual people. What I know about Ragna is you can get up to some MvC2 nonsense with that one air combo he's got. I got hit up so many times and so high that I thought I might go out of the top and appear at the bottom.
So I hear Litchi is now a high tier character in CS? I'm still playing CT (and I've always enjoyed the strategy of controlling space with the stick), so what have they changed to improve her? Are there better offensive ways of throwing down the stick, because I find my opponents are wise to the backjump-stick throwdown-quartercircle fierce-low medium poke-four gods malarky I try throwing. By the time I'm in backjump, they're already gassing up the ice car.
I'd throw the tier list away, imo. Litchi requires so much execution to show that S rank. Anyone is viable with the possible exception of Rachel. I wouldn't underestimate her either, though.
While I am absolute garbage at this game, been going with Hakumen as my main. Usually I'm a big fan of the high damage/low combo characters (Honda main in SSF4) so Hakumen is right up my alley.
Bummer about Rachel. She's always great to break out to screw with your friends. My friend Terik was a Street Fighter fiend, and when I hit him with Rachel, it was like the game started speaking at him in a language he didn't understand.
@Brodehouse: Well you just poke away until you manage to hit, then you convert that hit into a full combo into the corner and do your pressure. So hit & run until you get the knockdown in the corner, then it's lights out.
I played Arakune in CT as well. His entire strategy is much different now since you have to build the curse meter now instead of being a one hit instant. The change forced me to learn how to win with Arakune without relying on his Curse and in turn it made me a better player. He is still death in the corner if you have the curse but without curse he is much easier to deal with now. However an advanced Arakune player will still be able to control space well with curse clouds and bugs, while gradually building up curse meter.
Should've added Valkenhayn to the list now he's officially confirmed.
Been playing Noel since the day I got CT and continued on the tradition in CS. But man, some of the changes made to her hit her hard, really hard.
I like a challenge, but it's gotten to the point where I die a little inside everytime someone picks Tager as their character. That matchup is so fucked up it's not even funny anymore :/
