The Bed of Chaos is a non-optional boss found deep within The Lost Izalith. Created accidentally by The Witch of Izalith while attempting to duplicate the Lord Soul, consuming her in the process, it is the source of all chaos energy, pyromancy and demons. Her children also met a poor fate. Two of them became cursed to become half spider demons, one became hollow and is fought in front of the Bed of Chaos boss room and another, Quelana, teaches the player pyromancy.
The Bed of Chaos boss encounter is unusual for two different reasons. One, dying does not impede progress as the boss encounter does not reset upon death. And two, the encounter is mostly composed of the player trying to reach the core which is able to be killed in one easy hit.
